Why Fluid22: Custom Websites Built Around Your Business

Not Cookie-Cutter Websites

Every site we build starts with a blank page and a real conversation about your business and your customers. That's how an aviation company and a Park City screen printer can both hire us and get websites that look nothing alike.

Start a Conversation

Designed from scratch, one business at a time

A template hands you someone else's layout and asks your business to squeeze into it. We work the other way around. Before anyone opens a design file, we learn what you sell, who buys it and what they need to do on your site. Our design team shapes every page around those answers, and our developers build whatever the site needs to deliver them, from a vehicle-fitment tool to a dispensary finder. The finished site only makes sense for your business, because it was planned for no one else.

Discovery Comes Before Design

The first part of every project is mostly listening. We want to know what your best customers have in common, what they ask before they buy and where your current site loses them. We talk with you and your team, look at what you already have and write down what the new site has to do. Everyone on the project works from that same plan. Core 4x4 is a good example. Their customers need to know a part fits their exact Jeep or truck before they spend real money on suspension. So we built the whole store around the vehicle, from a Year-Make-Model selector on the homepage to a saved garage that follows shoppers as they browse. No theme would have handed us that idea, because it came from listening to how Core 4x4 actually sells.

Pages Shaped Around How Customers Decide

Your website should follow the path your customers already take. Motherlode, a screen printing studio in Park City, had a stock Shopify theme that led with souvenir tees, while most of the shop's work was custom printing for other people. We rebuilt the site around one action, starting a custom order, with a button in the header of every page. The pages now answer the questions that used to come in by phone: minimums, price ranges, garment choices and file formats. Customers reach the order form already knowing what to expect. The shop's team spends less time answering the same questions over and over.

Features Built for Your Customers

We add features because your customers will use them, never to pad a proposal. Gulf Coast Supply & Manufacturing needed contractors to find specs fast, so we built a CSI Spec Builder covering nine panel profiles, plus a map of 137 Platinum Roofer locations. Flow Arizona's shoppers needed to find products nearby, so the site has a store finder with 134 dispensary locations. Bullfrog Spas sells across North America and beyond, and its site runs in 17 languages. Our development team builds each of these to fit the business it serves, and you won't find them in a theme library.

Responsive and Accessible on Every Screen

Many of your visitors will meet your site on a phone first, so we design for small screens from the start. Our UX/UI engineers hand-build every page from the design you approved. We build for accessibility too, so the site works for visitors of every ability. Before launch, our project manager runs testing and quality checks across screen sizes. On Core 4x4, the vehicle picker and full menu work just as well on a phone, for shoppers browsing from the garage or the trailhead. Pixel-perfect matters to us. The site that launches matches the design you signed off on, down to the details.

Good company to be in.

Aviation leaders, century-old manufacturers, healthcare providers, and neighborhood favorites all show up on the same client list. Whatever your industry expects from a website, we've likely already built for it.

What custom means here

A Design Nobody Else Has

Every layout is designed for your site by our own team. We don't buy themes, reskin starter kits or reuse pages from another client. Your colors, photos and type set the tone from the first screen.

Copy Written in Your Voice

Our writers learn how you talk about your work and write every page to match, with keyword research behind the copy. Placeholder text and recycled industry filler never make it to launch.

Code Built for the Job

We pick the platform around what your site has to do, which has meant WooCommerce stores, a WordPress Multisite network for six vacation-home sites and a custom Odoo storefront. You get the features your business needs without a pile of plugins you'll never use.

Custom after launch, too

A custom site should keep fitting your business as it changes. The team that built it stays on to write, update and grow it. These four parts of that work come up most.

Search Built Into the Structure

Search visibility is easier to build in than to bolt on later. While we plan your site, we research the words your customers type into Google and map each important topic to its own page. Each page gets a clear title, a sensible heading structure and copy written for people first and search engines second. We keep pages lean and images optimized, because slow sites lose visitors and rankings. Mint Pest Control is a good example, with 18 service pages, one for each pest, and eight local pages for Louisville and Indianapolis. That structure gives each search a page that answers it, instead of one crowded services page trying to rank for everything.

Room to Grow After Launch

Businesses change, and the site has to keep up. When Mint Pest Control grew beyond Louisville and Indianapolis into Cincinnati and Columbus, we were the team that rebuilt its site, because we had built the first one in 2023. Core 4x4 did the same when its catalog outgrew the WooCommerce store we built, and we rebuilt the store inside Odoo around more than 1,700 parts. Smaller changes happen all the time, too, from a new landing page before a trade show to a feature your customers keep asking for. Because the team that built your site is still here, nobody has to relearn how it works before the work can start.

Content Made for Your Customers

A good layout can't fix copy that sounds like everyone else's. Our content team starts every project by listening to how you describe your own business. Then we shape that into a clear voice your customers will recognize on every page. For Motherlode, the work included plain-spoken write-ups for nine recommended blanks, so customers could pick the right shirt or hoodie without having to call the shop. Our favorite compliment is when a client reads the finished copy and says it sounds just like them, only sharper. That's the goal for every page we write.

Decisions Backed by Real Use

Opinions are cheap, including ours. When you have analytics on your current site, we study them before we design, looking at which pages people land on, where they leave and what they click. That tells us what to keep and what to fix. During the build, we design around the actions that matter to your business, like a call, a booking, a quote request or an order. After launch, those same actions tell you whether the site is doing its job. When they point somewhere new, we can adjust the site to follow.

In our clients' own words

“Our sales have gone up year-over-year since we let you guys take over everything. We couldn’t be happier!“

Custom Website Questions

Choosing a custom website over a template is a bigger decision, and it should be. You're trusting a team with how your business looks and works online for the next several years. Below are the questions business owners in Utah and beyond ask us most often before they sign on. If yours isn't here, ask us directly and you'll get a straight answer from someone who will actually work on your project. We've launched 500+ projects since 2016, so there's a good chance we've heard your question before.

A Fluid22 website is designed and built from scratch for your business, without a purchased theme or a starter template underneath. Our designers create every layout around your goals and your customers, our writers create the copy in your voice, and our developers build only the features your site needs. All of it is done by our in-house team, with nothing outsourced. The result is a site that fits the way you sell, from Core 4x4's store with more than 1,700 parts to a service business that lives on its quote form.

Most of our custom websites are built on WordPress, usually with Elementor, plus WooCommerce when the site needs to sell online. We choose the platform around what your business needs, though. Core 4x4's store is a custom build inside Odoo, so its website and product catalog live in one system. Amavi's six vacation-home sites share a WordPress Multisite network, and Simple Game Hosting's site runs on Next.js. Whatever we recommend, you'll know why we picked it and how your team will manage it after launch.

A custom website usually takes anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the number of pages, the features involved and how quickly content and feedback come together. Ray Michaels at Maui Plumbing wrote in his review that his site took about two to three months to complete. Larger builds, like a store with a deep product catalog or a site covering many locations, take longer. At kickoff, our project manager builds a timeline for your project, so you'll know the milestones before work begins.

A custom website usually costs more up front than a template, because people are designing, writing and building it for your business alone. What drives the cost is scope: how many pages you need, whether the site sells online, which systems it has to connect to and how much copy we write. We quote every project at a flat rate once we've learned what you need, with no hidden fees. The best way to get a real number is a short conversation about your goals.

Yes. We build on content management systems your team can use, and we show you how to make everyday changes yourself. Joshua Lucero at Lucero Hair & Wellness says he now edits his site on his own all the time, and Maui Plumbing's staff got detailed instructions for adding and changing content. Motherlode's team adds new projects, client logos and workshop details without a developer. For bigger changes, the team that built your site is still a call away.

Yes. Every site we build is responsive, designed for small screens from the start and checked across screen sizes before launch. Our UX/UI engineers build pages that load quickly and work for visitors of every ability, which also helps your site perform in search. Motherlode's site, for example, scored 98 for performance and 100 for SEO in a Google Lighthouse desktop test in October 2026, and it works just as well on a phone. On Core 4x4, shoppers can pick their vehicle and browse parts from a mobile menu built for the garage or the trailhead.
