The Client

Elizabeth Academy is an inclusive private Montessori school in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It educates children of diverse abilities from infancy through the elementary and middle school years, and runs LEAP, a postsecondary program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, at a second campus.

The Challenge

Elizabeth Academy's previous website hid its navigation behind a single menu icon and opened with little more than a photo and a headline. For a school with programs from infancy through middle school, a postsecondary program and two campuses, families had to dig to find out what was offered for their child.

The site also serves two very different audiences. Prospective families need to understand Montessori, inclusive education and the admissions process, while current parents need calendars, the handbook, absence reporting and school news without searching for them.

Our Approach

We kept the school's crest, its kite-flying hero photo and the line Enlightenment for Life, then built a refined website design around them: deep navy and warm gold, Libre Baskerville headings and soft cream panels that feel calm and welcoming. The full menu now sits in plain view, with About Us, Academics and Admissions opening into mega menus and a separate Parent Central menu for current families.

We developed the site on WordPress and Elementor Pro, with an events calendar, a filterable staff directory and a news section the school can update on its own. Each age group, from infant to middle school and LEAP, has its own page, so families can go straight to the program that fits their child.

What We Built

Choose a feature to see it on the site.

  • The Academics menu lays out every program by age focus, from Infant and Toddler to Middle School and LEAP, alongside the school's academic focus areas. Each item has a one-line description, so parents can find the right page without guessing.

A site that feels like the school

Navy, gold and classic serif type give the site a calm, trustworthy feel, while real classroom photos show children at work. Families get a sense of the school before they ever schedule a tour.

Easier to find the right program

Clear menus and a dedicated page for each age group mean parents can go straight to the classroom that fits their child. Schedule a Tour sits in the main menu on every page.

Less searching for current parents

Parent Central gathers absence reporting, calendars and the handbook in one place. Parents can handle routine tasks quickly, without calling the office.

Easy for staff to keep current

Built on WordPress and Elementor Pro, the site lets the school add events, publish news and update staff profiles without help. Shared sections like the events calendar update across every page that shows them.
